Sanford Schulwolf was raised in Virginia Beach, VA and studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA and the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA where he received a B.A. in photography.
He moved to San Francisco after taking time to work as a ski instructor and professional bicycle racer in Colorado. Initially recognized for vivid and high-energy sports and action photography, he is also sought for his work capturing kids and lifestyles. His clients include Pottery Barn, Wells Fargo, Ford Motor Company and Coca Cola. His editorial work has appeared in the pages of Outside, Bicycling, Runner's World, American Way and This Old House.
"What I love most about photography is its variety and how it's introduced me to so many different types of people and environments. Finding that split second that transforms collaborative ideas into tangible results feels really great.
Sanford and his family recently moved to Austin. He maintains a studio in San Francisco and Austin and shoots on location around the country.
